Key Endorsements Come in This Weekend 3/12/08
This past week I received with the good news that several groups have decided to support me in my campaign:
- Basic Rights Oregon
- NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon
- Planned Parenthood
- United Food and Commercial Workers
These endorsements, similarly to SEIU, reflect my dedication to standing up for individuals whose needs are often pushed aside. I have dedicated my political career thus far to working with these groups and as part of a larger coalition to ensure all voices are heard in the legislature and throughout the state. I am looking forward to continuing to work with them as we move forward progressive policy that can ultimately create an equal Oregon.
Regan Gains SEIU Endorsement 2/8/08
Today I received the exciting news that SEIU local 503 has chosen to endorse me in my campaign to be the next State Representative for District 42.
This endorsement means so much to me as I feel that it strongly reflects my core values, and what I am dedicated to accomplishing in the legislature. All Oregonians deserve good jobs that pay a living wage and offer strong benefits. I have worked on these issues before, and I will continue to stand up to ensure that these rights remain.
I look forward to working with SEIU, and stand proud to have them on my side. Together we will be able to fight for the concerns crucial to all of us.
Thank you so much to SEIU, and to everyone who has supported me - and I look forward to serving you in the legislature.
Domestic Partnerships in Oregon - Finally! 2/6/08
Last week we finally got the news we have been waiting for - Domestic Partnerships in Oregon are going forward. Monday morning, couples lined up around the state to register for rights they should have been granted long ago.
I was so honored to be a part of this battle, and the work of BRO, their volunteers, and many others throughout the state has finally made this a reality. We now move one step closer to an Oregon we can all be proud of - one that does not discriminate on any grounds. We need a government that will help promote equality, and help move forward laws and legislation to make this reality. I look forward to joining this fight in a new role in 2009.
